2011 Meeting Report

The 2011 Annual Meeting of the National Association of Pipe Fabricators was held this past March in San Diego at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.  This was the 4th visit to this wonderful resort in the past 15 or so years.

Sunday evening registration was followed by cocktails and a great buffet.  Hospitality room was well attended later in the evening.

Monday's general meeting was moderated by by Mr. Lou Musante whose topic was "Factors Affecting Pipe Fabricators in the Changing World Economy."  All in attendance participated in this open forum and were well informed of the emerging markets of China and India who are providing a large majority of flanges and fittings used by members.

The ladies attended their annual luncheon hosted by Terry Wright.  This has become a tradition among the spouses in attendance

Tuesday morning meeting involved presentation of NAPF financial reports, Legal Counsel David Houghton's annual anti-trust seminar, election of officers, AWWA report by Ted Muntz and a report on impending health care mandate by Ed Morrison.  Joe Palombo was elected to a two year term as Board Chairman and Dick Williams was re-elected to serve two years as the Asociate Member representative on the board of directors.  The meeting was followed by many members playing in the annual golf tournament.

The Chairman's Dinner was Tuesday evening.  After cocktails, the golf awards were presented and Ed Morrison won again!  Willard Goodman was presented the Chairman's Award.  He has sold his company and retired after many years on the Board.  The Mirage Trio provided dance music as we all said good bye to all our friends until we meet next year at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort in Ft. Myers, FL.  Dates are March 25, 26 & 27, 2012.  Watch for information!
